After more than twenty years of “wear and tear”, a number of our roofs are being replaced at this time. The extremes of cold and heat add to the stress on New Mexico roofs, and it’s a miracle the roofs have lasted this long
In any case, because of the roof work underway this week directly over our Giftshop and lobby, the Giftshop will be closed all of this week and possibly next.
Guests on retreat as well as day visitors are still welcome, and Forest Service Road 151 leading to the Monastery is dry and passable. At this time of year, though, four or all-wheel vehicles are highly recommended.
