While it’s technically (meteorologically?) Autumn, it still looks like sumner in our cloister garden. Easter lilies and roses continue to bloom and the grass is as green as in Ireland.

This summer and fall, in addition to having an abundance of flowers, the cloister garden has produced heirloom squash. Some of the squash are as big as watermelons and will be harvested in the coming days.

The temptation could be to turn our cloister garden into a vegetable garden, but our new greenhouse is going up in Saint Fiacre Field, near the river, which will fit the bill very well for fresh produce year round.

With our continued prayers and grateful for yours,

Abbot Christian and the monks
