Our projected fruit orchard, now called “Veritas Orchard,” continues to be prepared for tree-planting, which will take place soon.

The target date for planting is mid-October, with trees coming from “Tooley’s Trees” of Truchas, New Mexico, just up the hill from Chimayo, some fifty miles away.

The flourishing grasses and grains in our orchard are providing nutrients for the soil. We are undertaking the whole process carefully and thoughtfully, with expert advice from local growers. We should have fruit within two years. That is the hope.

“Veritas” is the Latin word for “truth,” an essential virtue for all of us to cultivate in what we think, say and do.

Our thanks to all who make our life possible and who contribute to our various projects, large and small.

Gratefully, with our continued prayers,

Abbot Christian and the monks
