Caught in the act of being herself, our clever cat Monica was surprised when a photographer-monk found her flipping through the June issue of Readers’ Digest. Hence, the out-of-focus photo of the cat as she dashed off the table in the Reading Room, but you get the general idea.

The page where Monica had stopped was none other than the monthly, “Laughter, The Best Medicine.” The cartoon on that page shows a brown cat in bathtub saying to another cat, not in the tub: “Lick. Lick. Lick. Lick. Lick. Lick. Lick. Lick. Then I thought, why not just take a bath?”

Cats do (and say?) the dardest things sometimes.
