Predictably, our Christmas cactus are blooming again. We have several large pots of them, safely kept indoors all winter and in the full light of sun most of the day.

The Christmas cactus and about twenty other potted plants and flowers are in the cloister corridor where we all pass each day on the way to and from church. The floor to ceiling windows, with full southern exposure, are an ideal setting for flora.

From May to late September the Christmas cactus and other potted plants and flowers are placed outdoors in our cloister garden outside our cells.

While winters are cold in northern New Mexico, it is rarely cloudy, and the sunshine is fairly constant. Of course we always appreciate rain and snow as well.
