The majesty of the Chama canyon where the monastery is situated is endless in its shapes and colors.
This canyon was once part of a shallow ocean that gradually receeded and that dinosaurs once roamed these lands.
This verse from Psalm 24 comes to mind when contemplating the wonders of this land:
“The Lord’s is the earth and its fullness, the world and all it contains; for God founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the rivers. Who shall ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who shall stand in his holy place?”
The goodness of God shines forth in creation, “our common home,” as Pope Francis calls it, and we should never to thank the Lord for placing us upon the earth he has created. Our care for the land should reflect our gratitude to God.
Blessed Sunday to all!
