unnamedFive of our young professed monks (can you find them in the photo?), already students of Gregorian chant for some years, recently participated in the first “Winter Sacred Music Workshop for Chant and Polyphony,” sponsored by the renowned Church Music Association of America. The conference was held in Houston, Texas, at Saint Mary’s Seminary.
As all of our music for the Holy Eucharist and the Divine Office is Gregorian chant, either in Latin or English, our brothers profited from the time of learning more and singing under the direction of experts in chant.
The participants prepared and sang together the liturgies of Epiphany and a Votive Mass for the Holy Name of Jesus, as well daily morning and night prayer.
Our Brothers Philip Thomas, Dominic, Charles Lwanga, Cyril and Raphael had a full and productive time at the conference. They returned tired but enriched by the experience.
