Photoblog: May 3rd: Italian Iris

May 3, 2024

Nearly four decades ago a friend brought us some iris bulbs from a monastery in northern Italy. Some of the bulbs eventually made it to our cloister garden, which was dedicated in 1996. Some of the iris are still blooming each Spring, though day lilies seem to be dominating now the space shared with the iris. In any case, Spring always brings a variety of flowers for us to enjoy and to decorate the monastery church.
