About 500, St. Geneviève, patron of Paris, who was known for her charitable works. She advised Clovis, King of the Franks. Her relics were thought to have stopped an outbreak of ergotism in 1129. She is often depicted as a shepherdess or holding a candle.

In 1871, in Kerela, India, Blessed Cyriac Chavata, first superior of the Congregation of Carmelite Brothers of Mary Immaculate, an important community in the church in Malabar.
