Helped in part by recent rains, an old lilac bush at our Saint Benedict Ranch House, part of our guest facilities, is blooming splendidly just now. The blooming never lasts very long, and almost always happens in early May, being a fleeting enjoyment in the midst of desert beauty.
At an elevation of 6,500 feet above sea level, Spring in the Chama Canyon wilderness takes its time in coming, with really warm weather usually not occurring until June, and then not long after comes the monsoon season in July and August. Summer rains haven’t been happening very consistently in recent years, but hope springs eternal. A good amount of Spring snow and rain in Northern New Mexico has been a very welcome boon.
As promised, our latest Newsletter will be mailed out in the coming days, and we hope you enjoy our “news and views” since our Christmas Newsletter.
Be assured of our prayers and we are grateful for yours.
