Continuing signs of new life in the Chama Canyon wilderness where we live include the emergence of chicks among our poultry. Eight chicks were born just a few days ago and are now running their mother-hen in circles. But it won’t let long; they grow very fast.
Among wildlife in the canyon, we are delighted to see long-horn sheep, noble and majestic beasts new to our neighborhood. They are, of course, a welcome addition.
“All you beasts, wild and tame, bless the Lord,” the Old Testament Book of Daniel, cries out.
May our care for our common home continue unabated as we seek to “glorify God in all things,” as Saint Benedict encourages his monks.
With our greetings and prayers,
Abbot Christian and the monks
