Someone recently wrote us: “Do you really have chickens?” That alerted us to the fact that maybe our flock is not getting enough face-time.

In the photo below, our Kitchen Manager (though not the Chicken Manager), Father Zachary, is proffering the hens (and our lone rooster, Rudy) leftovers from monks’ meals of a few days back. Needless to say, the chickens quickly assemble when such treats come their way, usually mid to late morning each day.

At present we are getting only about twenty eggs per day from our forty-seven hens, but optimistic there will be an increase after the Winter Solstice.

With this comes our continued prayers for the needs and intentions of all our families and friends.

Blessed continuation of Advent. Marantha. Come, Lord Jesus.
