Both monks and beasts alike are a bit baffled by this weekend’s barometric pressure, bringing with it a combination of snow, sun and rain, over and again, all in the course of an hour or two throughout the day.
In any case, moisture is much needed in this part of the world and appreciated in whatever form it takes, either snow or rain.
Maybe we are getting the “last blast of winter,” even as trees and flowers are coming into full leaf and bloom following very pleasant weather beginning Easter Sunday two weeks ago and ending only now.
In the midst of desert beauty we stand in awe at the mystery and grandeur of God’s creation that surrounds us.
