This depiction of the last supper is done by cut, burnished golden metal on black wood and shows the figures for the apostles behind a table with a bright gold cup and round gold disc representing the bread. Jesus is standing and “presiding” over the meal and has his bright gold halo. While it is all done in a simple yet elegant symbolic style, this plaque lifts the mind to not only the Last Supper but to the Eucharist where the real Body and Blood of Christ can be found. The plaque is beautifully crafted by Christian artisans living and working just outside Cuernavaca, Mexico and would be a fine artistic addition to any household, having been designed by Br. Gabriel Chavez, a holy Benedictine monk of Tpeyac Abbey near Mexico City.
