In Hungary, in 1038, St. Stephen. Stephen was the son of the first Christian king of Hungary and the husband of Gisela, the sister of St. Henry II (July 13). When he became king, Stephen promoted the growth of the Hungarian church and founded the monastery of St. Martin at Pannonhalma, the motherhouse of the Hungarian Benedictines.
In 1378, St. Rock, who was widely venerated as the saint to be invoked for protection against the plague. He is usually depicted with a bubonic sore, an angel, and a dog who cared for him.
In 1490, at Toledo, St. Beatrice da Silva. After spending 30 years in a Dominican convent, she founded the Congregation of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
